Our team at Over and Above, with the support of our amazing community, have worked hard over the past 3 years on our latest fundraising appeal to build a new Cancer and Wellbeing Centre.
Based at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, the Centre supports patients with cancer, as well as their loved ones by providing a dedicated space for treatment, care and advice in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
The centre includes an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, complementary therapy rooms, private counselling rooms and a meeting/activity room. It will also provide accommodation for relatives and carers of patients staying in hospital overnight. In addition it will provide services such as a drop-in facility, financial advice, hair loss support, bra fittings, nutritional advice and support to relatives and carers.
We are incredibly proud at Over and Above to have been involved in a project which is going to benefit thousands of local patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. Once again we couldn’t have achieved our goal without the support of our local community, and we will continue to need their support as we aim to raise around £120,000 every year to fund the ongoing running costs.
